Seaford Life Saving Club

Parks and Trails

Project Specifics

Location: Seaford

Consultancy Services: Schematic Design, Design Development, Contract Documentation

ACLA collaborated with Council to design the landscape surrounding the Seaford Surf Life Saving Club primarily in order to address the link between the car park and the beach. Access to the site from the car park sensitively negotiates through the remnant foreshore vegetation and utilises permeable paving to allow rain water to infiltrate through to the soil below. The path broadens into a transitional space which connects and complements the existing pier and surf lifesaving club. The sculptural timber retaining/seating walls provide visitors opportunity to take in the bay view. The landscape upgrade also includes improved wayfinding signage, bicycle parking, feature lighting, a drinking fountain and foot shower. The space is used extensively by the community, fulfilling council’s commitment to increasing access opportunities and the visual appeal of its foreshore environment.
