Overview

Coleman Walk is the main pedestrian conduit providing access to all parts of the school. Its function serves to funnel students and staff through the space and provide spill out areas for student gatherings and various school events.

The design complements the existing tree lined avenue and facilitates pedestrian movement across and through the site based on observed student desire lines. Custom bench seats and tensioned wire cables with climbers are defining elements with the green facade capable of eventually providing regulation of solar access and creating another layer to the building facade.

The design also includes a central poster bollard for students to share information, an open lawn with underground rain water tanks for irrigation purposes and two paved chess boards with storage seats to house the chess pieces.
